CARES Model specification for bonded and unbonded post-tensioned flat slabs 2nd Edition
Introduction
CARES Post-tensioning technical committee expressed concerns about the lack of a suitable specification for flat slab construction.
TR47 is used as the basis for the specification for durable post-tensioned concrete bridges and contains practical information but is not entirely suitable for use with flat slabs as there are significant technical differences:
As a result, when using a specification derived from TR47, there are technical areas that require discussion, clarification and resolution, either at precontract stage or on site.
It is intended that this model specification will be included in the National Structural Concrete Specification; in the interim it will be published by CARES in hardcopy and on CARES' web site in Adobe PDF format.
2nd Edition Revision
After the successful launch of CARES' model specification in 2004, it has now been restructured and revised and is now in its second edition. The revisions are based on experience of use in the industry, changes to relevant national and international technical specification.
